The
Men's Health Project of Temple Beth Am is a group
dedicated to sparking discussion and awareness of men's
health issues through lectures by experts in their
medical fields followed by questions and
answers.
Meetings are held at Temple Beth
Am on the third Sunday of every month from January to
May at 9:30 in the morning. There is no
charge to attend the lectures. Refreshments, literature
guides, and literature notes are generously provided by
donations from community
members.
Attendance is open and encouraged
to all members of the community regardless of religious
affiliation.
Speakers will be leaders within
their fields, and are prepared to give informative
lectures which may be augmented by visual presentations
that are relevant to the topic, and in depth. The speakers
will also answer questions regarding the topic, with
straight forward answers.
Topics of lectures will be men's
health issues which could affect anyone at anytime. Attendees of the
lectures are encouraged to remember that "You are your
own best advocate, and in knowledge is
power."
The
first lecture will be given at Temple Beth Am on Sunday,
January 17th 2010 starting at 9:30 am by
Dr. James
Mohler.
Dr Mohler is the Chairman of Urology at Roswell
Park Cancer Institute. His talk will be
on 'Prostate
Health' followed by a question and answer
session.
Refreshments will be served. There is no
charge to attend the lecture series. Please contact
Jan Berg via email (or the temple office by phone) to
reserve a seat.
