UPCOMING BOOK:
"Away," a new novel by Amy Bloom, will be discussed at TBA on Thursday, November 20 at 7:30 p.m.
Our own Carol Silverman will conduct the friendly, roundtable discussion. Carol is an avid reader with keen insight into novel structure and writing styles.
The storyline of "Away" is centered upon Lillian, who leaves Russia following a pogrom. Arriving in America, absolutely alone, she hears word that her daughter might still be alive.
Lillian's search takes her from the world of Yiddish Theater on New York's Lower East Side, to Seattle's Jazz District, up to Alaska and along the fabled Telegraph Trail towards Siberia.
Author Amy Bloom is noted for witty, elegant language, and storylines that explore the passions of the human heart. A National Book Award finalist and nominee for the National Book Critics Circle Award, Amy Bloom teaches creative writing at Yale University.
Between the Covers With Jewish Authors, a book series sponsored by TBA Sisterhood, is currently enjoying its fourth successful year. Open to women, men and mature teens, newcomers are always welcome!
